Onekama, MichiganPAST Minutes: April 6, 2005
President Paul Mueller called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present were: Paul Mueller, Margaret Punches, Barb Wolverton, Dave Combs, Chuck Reed, Frank English, and Dave Yarnell (Manistee Chamber of Commerce). Visitors present were: Dendra Best, Christine (Michigan Decorations), Beverly Bauer, Nancy Cody.
Secretary’s Report Read by President Mueller and accepted as presented.
Treasurer’s Report Presented and accepted as presented.
Motion made to transfer funds from general savings to two CDs ($5,000.00 of general funds and $5,339.44 of lighthouse funds) at a greater rate of interest, seconded and passed.Old business:
Street decorations: Christine from Michigan Decorations was present and discussed several different options available as to the installation, care and maintenance of our Christmas decorations and summer banners. Frank and Barb are to get a count of the actual decorations and banners we have in storage, present this to Christine, and she will advise us of our options. Also mentioned was the possibility of a Christmas light show on the fairgrounds. Frank also has information on the company that takes care of Filer City lights. He will be contacting them.Web site: Dendra Best presented us with several options for our home page. We selected one. Dendra was given authorization to select a hosting company and arrange for us to be billed annually. Goal set to be “on-line” May 15. Dendra also given permission to pursue Oenkama.com domain name. Margaret to send her calendar of events. Anyone having spring pics to send them to Dendra at webservices@deertracks.com. Dendra needs input!!! Dendra also suggested several ways in which we could use the web site to bring in funds such as selling ads, selling pages, web site links, etc.
Calendar project: Per Paul and Dave C. proceeding well. They will be getting together again next week.
Signage project: No report.
Petunia parade: No report.
Annual fund raiser: Meeting set for tomorrow 9 am at Farr Center.
Fireworks: Set for Friday, August 5.
Meeting adjourned 9:25 pm.
