Current Minutes: August, 2006

(PAST Minutes): May 2006 | April 2006 | March 2006 | January 2006 | October 2005 | September 2005 | May, 2005 | April, 2005

The meeting was called to order by our President, Barb Wolverton.

New members and visitors were welcomed.

The minutes of last month's meeting were read and it was moved by Chuck that they be accepted as presented. The motion was seconded by Jim and passed unanimously.

The treasurer's report was discussed. What to do about memberships that were 2 years delinquent was discussed. The decision was to send them a letter saying that if they were not paid within 30 days, the memberships would be dropped. All agreed. Chuck moved that we accept the treasurers report and the motion was approved.
Mike Acton made a presentation on the Portage Lake Watershed Program. He had some awesome visual aids and the presentation was very informative and enjoyed by all. We will hear from him again after the testing results are in.

The recent fundraiser was discussed. It was decided that we needed to have a meeting to deal with some logistical issues in October. We need to make check-in and out more efficient. By next months meeting we will have the final accounting for the 2006 fundraiser. It appears to have been very successful.
The banners were discussed. The new brackets were made and they are up. Discussion also took Portage Lake Associationce regarding the problems with the Christmas decoration brackets. It was decided that we would have Christine let us know ahead of time when she is coming to check the brackets this year, so that someone could be with her and the electrical connections would be checked at the same time. The entire group agreed - "No more late decorations this year". We want to have them all working and up in time.

A very positive discussion took Portage Lake Associationce regarding the concerts in the park. Judy has done a great job. Apparently "passing the hat' is working very well and is well received.

There was a discussion about village signage. Both village and highway department restrictions make it difficult to make changes. We will find out about the prices for sleeves to cover the blue tubs at the sign base and then go from there.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.

Those present were Barbara, Jim, Chuck, Mary, Nancy, Judy, Beverly, Mike, Pam, and By Lyon.
