(PAST Minutes): April, 2005May, 4, 2005: President Paul Mueller called the meeting to order at 7:15. Other members present were Margaret Punches, Dave Combs, Mary and Chuck Reed, Judy Blackmore, Linda English, Peg Wickstrom and Connie Zimmermann.
The Minutes were approved as presented.
The Treasurer's Report was presented by the President in the absence of the Treasurer. It was approved as presented.
Street Decorations: No report
Web Site: www.Onekama.info is how you get onto the web site. Dendra Best is still interested in any pictures that depict Onekama's various seasons and activities. Send them to her at webservices@deertracks.com
Calendar: They should be ready for sale at the Fundraiser June 18th.
Signage: Participants are to be contacted within the next month about the sign.
Petunia Parade: Bed preparation will be taking Portage Lake Associationce during the month of May with the Portage Lake Associationnting to be done by the Onekama School students on June 1, with June 2 as a rain date. Please contribute to this project if you have not already done so. It does make our town look so festive during the summer!
Fundraiser: The Reeds and the Punches have prepared packets for donation solicitation, complete with a mission statement, receipts, posters and a list of donations last year and the assignments for this year. They want to have all of the donations delivered to the Punches residence by June 1. The theme this year is A BEACH BOYS TRIBUTE Additional types of auctions were discussed, in addition to the usual cans and live auction. (See information below)
Fireworks: They will be done in conjunction with the Onekama Lion's Club during Onekama Days, Friday, August 5th. The cost this year will be close to $3000. There will be some breakfasts served at the Lion's Den to help offset the cost. The first breakfast is to be Sunday, May 15. Several members signed up to help.
Membership: Letters will only be sent to those who have paid dues in 2004-05. It is too expensive to carry any that have not paid dues.
Concerts in the Village Park: They will be held July 11,18, 25, August 1, 8, 15, and 22. They have come in under budget this year because of a grant for one of the concerts from Michigan Arts and Humanities. The poster is ready for distribution.
There being no other business the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
