The meeting was called to order by President Paul Mueller at 7:10 pm. Also present Margaret Punches, Barb Wolverton, Connie Zimmermann, Mary and Chuck Reed, Dave Combs, Nancy Cody, Beverly Bauer, Judy Blackmore, Linda and Frank English, Jeff Sternberger.

The Minutes of the September 7, 2005 meeting were reviewed and approved as presented.

The Treasurer's Report was approved as presented and filed for audit. Of the 25 prints of Portage Lake that were purchased prior to the June Auction, only 8 remain to be sold. The framed print is disPortage Lake Associationyed at MacBeth's and will be moved to Natural Elegance in January. The Lighthouse dollars have been reinvested in a CD until the transfer of the money to the Township Parks and Recreation Commission in the Spring when they will have definite Portage Lake Associationns of where they wish to Portage Lake Associationce the Lighthouse in North Park. We have 20 new members, bringing the total to 120 members .

Fall Festival, 10 - 4 pm October 8 in the Village Park. Jeff Sternberger has recruited 21 vendors to date. He has arranged for there to be face painting, Balloon Man, Rockin' R Stables (pony rides, carriage rides and the Bull Train) the Lion's Food Wagon, Trinity Lutheran Donut Wagon, Church of the Brethren "Pies by the Slice", Congregational Church " Pigs in a Blanket", whole pies, cookies and breads, Girl Scouts selling pumpkins. Other vendors will arrive the day of the Festival. A Portage Lake Association booth will be set up with applications for membership, information about the Website and the Portage Lake framed print on disPortage Lake Associationy with prints to be sold. 3 members volunteered to man the booth. There will be a Scarecrow and Pumpkin carving contest for students. Flyers will go home with students on Thursday. Jeff asked that several men come to the park on Friday afternoon at 5pm to help move picnic tables out of the way.

The Nominating Committee presented the ballot which will be mailed in early October along with the President's letter.

Website: Nancy Cody, Chair, passed out the Marketing brochures to the members who will call upon businesses in the area to subscribe to our website. There are 3 options available which were again discussed; the best buy is to be a member of Portage Lake Association ($25) so that the subscription costs less. Since July3, 2005 to October there have been 15,849 hits, 4,441 pages viewed, 996 total visitors with the biggest day being Monday and Saturday the lowest. A motion was made and seconded to present to the membership an amendment to the By-Laws to limit the terms of the President and Vice-President to two consecutive years. After discussion about whether to include all officers, the motion was passed unanimously. This meeting will serve as the first of three readings necessary to so amend the By-Laws.

Petunia Parade: The petunias will be removed on October 10, 9am. Meet at the usual gas station with gloves.

Concerts in the Park: Margaret Punches will begin arranging for performers for 2006 concerts.

Fundraiser: Margaret Punches reported that June 10-18 the County Commissioners will be holding an Energy Fair at the Fairgrounds. It was moved and seconded to authorize $500 to reserve the Lion's Den June 24, 2006 for our annual Fundraiser Auction.

It was moved and seconded that we frame one of our prints of Portage Lake and donate it to Farr Center, provided that it be Portage Lake Associationced in the Activity room where it can be enjoyed by all. The motion was passes unanimously.

Dave Combs will investigate the possibility of having a Festival of Lights at the Fairground in 2006.
